I just got this phone C550 and my problem is that when I get a txt message from a domestic phone number it comes up as normal but when I get a message from an international number it looks like Ive already read it and theres no new message sign on the screen...

My sister just bought the C550 and like everyone else cannot find the software to use the USB cable. Ive tried going to motclub.com but it wont let me download the right files for some reason.

i just brought the c550 two days ago and apart from having problems with the network (vodafone) i love it!.. its great value for the money and you can do so many things with it. for motorola c550 mobile phone please try following procedures.
IT ONLY WORKS IN WINDOWS XP ONLY (not for win98,i havenot tried in winme and win2000)
first of all download p2kman.zip and p2k.zip from motclub.com and unzip it into your hard drive.then run connect your mobile to the computer your computer asks for driver then point the unzipped folder when it asks then always point that folder.finally run p2kman.exe .if u want to know more information then mail me. i will reply back with necessary drivers. |

Hi there,
Here is the correct instructions to get it to work, 1. connect fone to PC.
2. run this program http://www.motclub.com/down/apps/p2kman.zip
3. put these in a folder, and when you are asked for a driver, choose that folder
But I have a problems as follows... I managed to download the correct drivers as outlined above. I then managed to download all the default pics from the phone and then I deleted all the pics on the phone. I then turned on the camera & tried to take a photo but my phone crashed and I had to take the battery out for a second to restart it. I tried over & over to take a pic but the same thing happened. I then tried to upload all the pics I stored on my PC but they didn't show up on the phone. I'm unsure what to do & i have had the phone for only one day, if I take it back then they might not replace it since I deleted all the pics? I also noticed before this happened that the photo's I took were unviewable even on my PC but they looked liked a big mess of pixels? Whats happening, I would appreciate any tips. |

okay, so it took me a great while to figure everything out with this phone, but now it works just fine and i have my photos downloaded and have just begun cleaning up the silly standard images and sounds to make room for my own content!
i too like many others for a while lost faith in making this work, and have put soo many hours into this project since i got the phone three months (!) ago. easy connectivity is not exactly the case here, but the joy is so much greater when it actually works if you have to sweat a bit first..
if only the screen resolution, as someone aldready mentioned, had been higher, this would be the ideal shit. in it's price range i think it's brilliant. |

Just though I’d write a little guide for win XP cannot comment about other OS’s to help people connect to there C550’s Step 1) Get the cable which is just a bog standard mini USB cable (the one that most digital camera’s use) it will cost about £4.00 from any half decent P.C shop Step 2) Get the correct software & drivers P2K USB drivers & the P2KMAN software…..Both are available here…www.motclub.com its Spanish but very easy to choose programs from the left hand side bar which leads you to the download page. Step 3) Install the drivers……..Plug your phone in once windows dialog box appears asking for drivers choose advanced and point it to the unzipped P2K USB drivers…Next launch the exe from P2KMAN a dialog box will appear saying unable to connect that’s ok, when XP asks for the drivers point it to the unzipped P2KMAN folder it will install about 5 different items individually, once everything’s installed ok launch P2KMAN exe. Step 4) Using the software…….P2KMAN isn’t the most beautiful looking GUI but it does the job to download pictures look in the explorer bar on the right /a/mobile/pictures/ click on the picture you want to download then click yep you’ve guessed it download save it where ever you like, to upload a picture in the rectangle text box on the bottom left type “/a/mobile/picture/” then press upload choose picture gif or jpeg that’s it picture’s are very easy to manage……Now ringtones are just as easy but require a little more tweaking to get them to set as you actual ringtone….type “/a/mobile/audio/” choose upload select required midi file & the tone will appear in sounds but will not be audioable as ringtone, this is because the C550 uses a data base file to manage ringtones & just because you have just stuck the file in the right place it doe’snt been that all the internal links/commands are correct…So what you have to do delete“/a/mobile/MyToneDB.db” (sounds a little scary but these are the things that need to be done for free ringtones) You can download your original database file if you like before deleting but there is no need you phone will create a new one upon reset. Once you’ve deleted the MyToneDB.db you’ll have to reset your phone either buy turning it of for a while or which I prefer remove battery for about 2 minutes then replace your phone will now have rebuild you MyToneDB.db to include your ringtones so they will now work as your ringer. |

Apparantly u just plug it in after installing p2k, but doesnt work for me! xp doesnt detect the phone automatically and there are hundreds of drivers when u download the usb drivers so it is almost impossible to find the right one, and it aint the obvious ones. Anyone help?? please contact me!! thanks |

Hi everybody,
I am from Nepal. Finally, I am able to upload and download the pictures and tones. The photos are incredible rather than it is displayed in phone screen. I never thought it. I use P2KMan in windows 2000 but I felt it is not user friendly. Can anyone tell me about the better software and the driver of C550 which I can use it in win98se too? |

The phone is great! Best phone i've had it's just the right size, pluz loads of things to do on it. Also best part the camrea! the only bad thing is, the same as everybody elses problem i need to know how to download my photo's onto the computer!!!?? Anybody can help e-mail me please!! xx |

well i got the C550 yesterday, like it allot, BUT need the softeware, everyone on the internet it looking for it, but none have found it, i downloaded the p2k thing, now i can connect to the internet through my fone.....great BUT i have wireless broadband, so yeah i think we need ot work together to gt the software somehow.

The phone is very good. I've got it for a few hours and it's easy to use. You need only USB cable to connect it to the computer.Then (in XP) install the USB driver for motorola.And install the p2k software.connect the phone and everything is OK.the quality of photos is very good (640x480) and quality of ringtones is also very good. |

This phone is rubbish. Don't buy it. The manual is poor and the support from Motorola is dire. If you want a phone that allows easy connectivity with PC or simple email use, forget it. There are much better options out there. There are no games available for downloads despite what you'll be told by cheesy salespeople and generally the unit is poorly thought out and irritating to use. An expensive mistake. |
